Dolphins, sea lions and seals are amazingly quick learners. They surprise visitors to the dolphinarium again and again with their breath-taking feats. The dolphins in Marineland are big bottlenose dolphins who are highly curious and capable of learning new things. The activities of the marine mammals – training, shows, feeding – are supervised by medical staff to guarantee the optimal health of the animals. The fact that this concept has been successful since the founding of Marineland in 1970 is demonstrated by, among other things, the offspring: the growing dolphin babies are the official stars of the dolphinarium! Visitors are especially touched by the trusting relationship between the animals and their caregivers. The activities of the Marineland near Palma contribute to the long-term protection and conservation of these animal species.
Four large aquariums impress visitors with all the biodiversity of the seas. The large Mediterranean aquarium displays native animals from Mallorca, including rays, guitar fish and sea bass. The black-tipped reef shark with black dots on its fins swims in the shark aquarium , and the brown-banded bamboo shark swims thrillingly close to the audience. A large sea turtle lives peacefully with the famous sharks. In the two other seawater aquariums, the funny clownfish, the common pennant coralfish, the palette doctor fish and the Picasso triggerfish wow visitors amidst the colourful corals. The variety of species is overwhelming.
The terrariums for the snakes, iguanas, chameleons and poison arrow frogs are naturally warm and moist. Dangerous boas, nimble tree lizards and coloured corn snakes are featured in the tropical house. Audience favourites include the cute tufted monkeys – small apes that live in trees. They feed on fruit, leaves, flowers, nectar and insects. At Marineland Mallorca in Costa d'en Blanes, guests can experience their lively antics up close. A rarity awaits visitors at the end of the tour through the tropical house, where the so-called ferrerets – small midwife toads – are located. The Balearic island of Mallorca is the only place in the world where this species is found.
The park has a mini park and a children's playground for younger visitors. Other attractions include a train, a pearl diving pool and an adventure playground. Children can play here under the supervision of their parents. In addition to the children's pool, the fine sandy beach of Costa d'en Blanes near Portals Nous, which belongs to Marineland, is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cool moment in the park. Costa d'an Blanes has much more to offer than just sunshine and bathing fun. You can also enjoy the surrounding beaches of Playa de Palmanova, Platja de Cala Major, S'Arenal and Cala Punta Negra.
